Wendy Weiss

On Tuesday, June 9, 2020, Wendy (Thornton) Weiss left this earth and danced her way into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her passing was unexpected. Anyone who was close to Wendy, knew that first and foremost, she was a woman of tremendous faith and courage. She was passionate about life and her Lord.

During her life, Wendy overcame incredible obstacles; some that would destroyed a weaker person. Those who knew her story, were always in awe of her tenacity and strength. Wendy loved deeply and fiercely. She loved her husband David so much. She was crazy about her daughters and her grandchildren. She loved her sisters. You always knew what Wendy thought. She did not mince words. She could love with all the gentleness anyone could have but she was always ready to battle anyone who was unkind or insensitive to the pain of others. She never hesitated to share the love of Jesus and His healing Grace. She was not afraid of anything.

Preceding her in death, but reunited with her in heaven, are Wendy's parents, Albert and Lucy Thornton, and her beloved sister, Hopie, (Hope Thornton Phillips), her grandparents and many aunts and uncles. Wendy is survived by her loving husband, David Weiss, (Marion, Ohio), her Daughter Ahlea Thornton-Catherine Son in Law Nick Catherine (Marion), her daughter Cataya Thornton, (St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands) . Also surviving are her grandchildren: Taelor Thornton, Catrissa Barber, Andi Joe McElroy, Gionni Rossi, Jewell Pender, Noel Catherine, Nicholas Catherine. Her sisters, Merry (Lyle) Thornton Henretty, and Shelley (Murlen) Thornton Paul, both of Marion survive. Wendy has three nieces and three nephews.

Viewing will be held Saturday June 13th at Edwards Funeral Service, Hughes-Allen Chapel, located at 318 Mt.Vernon Avenue, Marion, Ohio. Viewing will be from 10 am until 12 noon, with the funeral service immediately after. Because of some limitations, the funeral service will be streaming live at Edwards Funeral Service Facebook page.
