Joshua Aaron VanBuskirk

Joshua Aaron VanBuskirk, of Marion, Ohio, passed away on March 24, 2024.

He was born on April 6, 1990 to Steven and Lisa VanBuskirk in Marion.

Joshua was a dedicated partner to his fiance Sheena Hurt, and she waited on him hand and foot. Together, they never went without. Joshua and Sheena are now finally reunited.

When he was a boy, every day was a new adventure, and he spent a lot of time catching snakes and other critters. He always loved the outdoors and animals. Nobody was a more diehard fisherman than Joshua. He loved fishing so much that he would fish during a hurricane. He had many friends that called him “Big Kush”. He was a hustler who was a great cook and a beast at playing football. Joshua liked his football and he loved his fishing. He was a lover and a fighter; he would fight the people he loved, and fight for the people he loved. He was tough, and he loved going to the shooting range with his family. He knew how to shoot by the time he was six. He treasured his family vacations, especially their trips to North Carolina. He did his best to make sure that his kids were able to travel with him, and he loved being a dad and making new memories. Joshua kept his family close and everyone had a tight bond. He had a very strong faith. He kept an upbeat attitude and had a magnetic personality, and he always provided for his family.

Joshua is preceded in death by his fiance Sheena; maternal grandmother Maxine Louise Piatt; and paternal grandparents Beverly Sue Christian and Joseph Leroy VanBuskirk.

He is survived by his parents; his children Ayden (Mariah) and Ayva; his beloved granddaughter Faithlyn; his sisters Britney (Shaver) VanBuskirk and Katie (Zachary) Dyer; many aunts, uncles and cousins; niece Harmony Dyer; nephews Carson Dyer, David Mount, Derrick Schwenning, and Christopher Schwenning; and many, many friends and family.
