Jerry Kyle Benson

Jerry Kyle Benson, age 58, passed away unexpectedly at Marion General Hospital on Sunday June 28, 2020. Jerry was born on March 15, 1962 in Marion, OH to the late Willard and Betty (Watson) Benson. He graduated high school and gave 20 years of his work life to Marion Steel/Nucor, most recently working at Whirlpool.

Jerry married the love of his life, Kathy, on August 20, 1982, enjoying 38 wonderful years with her. He held a special place in his heart for his siblings, cherishing each moment he had with them. Jerry enjoyed his grandchildren—their sporting events, as well as school events, attending almost all of them. He loved enjoying nights by the fire with friends and family, camping, and sprint car racing with his son. He was also known for his green thumb as he did his yardwork and caring for his garden. Jerry spent his time away from work by going yard-saling, and visiting Amish Country with his wife Kathy. Most of all, Jerry was known for being totally family oriented.

Jerry will be missed tremendously by his adoring wife Kathy, his son Jerami (Katelyn) Benson, his daughters Jennifer (Brandon) Saari, and Jessica (Paul) McGowan; his brother Rick (Liz) Benson; his sisters Linda Robertson, and Judy Cox-Benson (Bill Adkins); his grandchildren Kaydence Benson, Alysa Mahaffey. Braylan McGowan, Rylee McGowan, Kamryn McGowan, Gabriel Benson, Chloe Brown, and Zane Saari.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Steve and John Benson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made out to the family or Edwards Funeral Service to help with the expenses.

Visitation will be held on Friday July 03, 2020 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Service 318 Mt. Vernon Ave., Marion, OH 43302 with a service to follow directly.
