Darlene Frances Kelley

Darlene Frances Kelley, age 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at Wyndmoor of Marion. She was born April 11, 1939, to the late Herbert and Stella Weaver.

She worked many years in the billing department at Smith Clinic before retiring.

In 1961, she married the love of her life Melvin Kelley, and they had 62 wonderful years together before Melvin passed away in 2016. Their first year of marriage, Melvin was in the Coast Guard and they lived in Traverse City, MI; Darlene fell in love this town. After Melvin got out of the Coast Guard, they lived in multiple cities in Ohio due to Melvin’s job with GTE.

She enjoyed many camping adventures with Melvin and her family. Later in life she enjoyed going to her grandchildren’s sporting activities.

She is preceded in death by her husband Melvin Kelley, her parents Herbert and Stella Weaver, and her brother Charles “Buck” Weaver.

She is survived by her sons Steven (Mary) Kelley, Christopher (Linda) Kelley both of Marion, Ohio, and Jeffrey (Lisa) Kelley of Monclova, Ohio. Eight grandchildren Alyssa (Brandon) Carson, Megan Kelley, Paige (Austin) Villarreal, Courtney (Ken) Rittenour, Kristen Kelley, Dylan (Courtney) Kelley, Jordan (Jane) Kelley, and Matthew Kelley. Eight great grandchildren Kayleigh Carson, Ashlyn Carson, Zane Garcia, Bexlee Rittenour, Sawyer Rittenour, Carter Kelley, Hayes Kelley, and baby Villarreal due in July.

Services for Darlene will be held at a later date.
