Carol A. Rinnert, passed away on June 02, 2022, at Hennis Care Center.
Carol was born in Nunda, New York to the late Lauren C. and Madeline L. (Schoenfeld) Barner. Twice married she was preceded in death by her first husband Theodore W. Goodell and son Douglas C. Goodell, and her former husband Robert E. Rinnert. She is survived by her daughter Debra L. (Jamie) Pittman of Orrville, Ohio, and sons David S. Goodell and Dennis L. Goodell of Massillon, Ohio, two granddaughters Katie Millar and Christine Goodell.
Carol was a graduate of Lakewood High School, Lakewood, Ohio and LaSalle Institute, Chicago, Illinois. She was a certified medical and legal transcriptionist working numerous years in radiology, pathology, and cardiology. She was a registered physicians assistant and had worked with the MR/DD population as a job trainer/coach. Throughout her lifetime she had donated many hours to charitable organizations and food pantries, but her prime interest was veteran’s organizations. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Post 162, and a member of the Unit ColorGuard. She was also an active member/officer of VFW Post 7201. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the Women’s Association Group of Marion.
She was an avid worker of crossword puzzles, enjoyed being outside working in her flower beds and was especially fond of watching hummingbirds and woodpeckers. She had been a fan of the Cleveland Indians and Browns. Carol was a very patriotic person and participated in many veterans’ functions. She was a very caring and concerned individual and enjoyed helping others. Her sense of humor and laughter will be remembered.
No calling hours will be observed. Memorial contributions may be made to a local food pantry, veterans’ organization, or St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Inurnment at the Marion Cemetery will follow at a late date. Arrangements handled by Edwards Funeral Service.
