Benjamin Lewis Hardon

Benjamin Lewis Hardon, age 82, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday January 26, 2019. Benjamin Lewis Hardon was born to James Henry Hardon and Maynell Hardon on January 2, 1937 in Brownsville, TN. Ben and Gladys Hardon got married September 18, 1971 in Bolivar, TN. The family relocated to Marion, Ohio in 1976. Ben retired in 2003 from Worthington Custom Plastic where he worked for 30 years. He loved to cook, play his R&B music, fish, detail cars. Most of all he loved to spoil his wife and grandchildren. Ben was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee. Ben is survived by his wife Gladys M. Hardon of Marion, Ohio. Three sons, Michael Hardon of Marion, Ohio; Brian Hardon of Lathrop, CA; Terrell Hardon of Nashville, TN. One daughter Alma (James) Lampkin. Two sisters, Yvonne (Norman)Burns of Fairlawn, NJ. and Marvis Jean Brabham of Jackson, TN. Two brothers, Evis Pegues and Samuel Pegues of Jackson, TN. Ben had six sister-in-laws, one brother-in-law. He had 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by two children, Jamie Wylie-Christie and Marvel Douglas. Brothers Charles Wood, Leoford Wood Jr and B.L Hardon. Sister Eddie-May Woods, Doretha Woods-Wilson and Forestine Cole.

Public visitation will be held on Thursday February 07, 2019 from 11:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church 475 E. Fairground St. Marion, OH 43302. Service will follow with Bishop Draper officiating.
