Barbara "Barb" (Massey) Underwood

Barb lost her fight to Cancer on May 6, 2022. Barb was born in Boone County, West Virginia on June 19, 1949, to the late Claude and Margaret (Counts) Massey. On May 14, 1966 she married Roy Underwood and he survives in Marion.

Barb was a talented singer, musician and was happy to share her knowledge with anyone who asked or was willing to listen. She will be remembered by many for her beautiful singing voice. She was definitely the 'glue', the one with the best advice or just a listening ear.

Along with Roy, Barb is survived by a brother, Herman Massey of Marion; 2 daughters, Tabby (Tim) Lemaster and Jodi (Charles) Underwood-Shepherd; 2 sons, Roy Jr 'Butch' and Tony (Shonna) Underwood, all of Marion; 9 grandchildren, Tim Endicott, Jarrod Campbell, Kristen (Austin Hughes) Wilson-Hughes, Cory (Brooke Miller) Wilson, John (Stacey) Wilson, Roy T (Marissa) Underwood, Emily (Quinton) Beck, Colton Underwood, Sydney (Merrick Cooper) Underwood; 15 great grandchildren, Shaydee, Riley, Miah, Jaylynn, Ashlynn, Bradley, Raelynn, Kinzley, Oliver, Wyatt, Kinzley, Mason, Makenna, Collins, arriving soon, is KC, and "not blood but mine" Calissa. Barb is also survived by a few special people in her life, Jenny 'Mickey' Organ and Deb and Buzz Russell. As well as, 1 aunt, Pat (Massey) Alspa and several nieces, nephews, cousins, many foster children and 'adopted family members'.

The family would like to say a special 'Thank You' to Dr. Bhinder and his staff for all the help, guidance, and quick responses the past 10 months. Also, a special 'Thank You' to all of the staff at Ohio Health Marion General Hospital, 2nd floor; you all were wonderful, attentive, and caring to Mom and the entire family. Thanks to Parker, Liz, and Just Joking Karaoke Club for being there; the texts and calls didn't go unnoticed by us and helped Dad through a difficult time. Thank you to the Marr family for the visit from Canada and Upper New York.
