Aubrey Gene Lowe

Aubrey Gene Lowe, 88, of Prospect, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Sunday July 31, 2022.

Born March 15, 1934, in Pikeville, KY to the late Roland T and Minnie (Gilliam) Lowe. In addition to his parents Gene was preceded in death by his brothers: Mayo Leslie, Paul and Crit Lowe, his sisters Edith (Estil) Maynard, Cynthia {Toot} (Arnold) Joseph, mother and father-in-law Ernest and Hattie Mae Hall, and brother-in-law Larry Thomas.

On June 30, 1954, he married the love of his life Joan (Hall) Lowe, they recently celebrated 68 years of marriage.

Also left to cherish his memory; 5 youngans: Jeffrey (Elizabeth), Lisa (Jim) Landon, Terry (Pam), Chad (Channin) and Tonja Lowe, his grandchildren: Tina, Matthew, Joshua, Jacob, Justin, Tyler, Colin, Cody, Vincent, Dustin, and Kindell, 14 great grandchildren with one on the way, one great great granddaughter with one on the way, sister-in-law Barbara Thomas, and his beloved dog Bailee.

Gene retired from BF Goodrich. He also served as a police officer for Prospect, Lt. for the Prospect Fire Dept., and was a member of the Union County Civil Defense.

He enjoyed camping with his family in the summer along with vacations trekking across the country. Gene loved restoring and showing off his sweet 37 4 door Chevy Street Rod at car shows.

Gene dearly loved all his family and will be greatly missed by all.

His services will be held on Friday August 05, 2022, at First United Methodist Church, Richwood, OH. Calling hours will be from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM. Burial at Prospect Cemetery.

Edwards Funeral Service of Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.
