Vernon William Davis, Jr.

Vernon William Davis, Jr., 74, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 15, 2023, at his home in Marion, Ohio.

He was born on March 14, 1949, in Bellefontaine, Ohio to the late Betty Louise (Ratleff) Davis and Vernon William Davis, Sr. He graduated from Wilkinson High School in Pittsburgh, PA and then went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in business management and accounting from Franklin University. Vernon was a phenomenal Martial Arts Expert, earning a black belt in a years’ time, which is almost unheard of. Vernon worked as an inspector at Ranco, as well as Rockwell International for many years. Vernon lived life “his way” until the very end. He was loved and will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

Left to cherish his memories are his children Bette Davis, Trace Burnett, Shaune Brooks-Wood, Cortnee Phifer, Helena Carter, Dominis Moody-Davis, Marc Stringer, Kaila Stringer, Malaysia Davis, and Mezmeriza Davis; he is also survived by his sister Sherie (Davis) Day, brothers David (Jennifer) Davis, Keith Davis, Larry Davis, Terry Davis, and Eric (Becky) Davis. Also left to cherish him are a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Vernon is preceded in death by his daughter Elizabeth LaVerne Colbert and brother Dennis Davis.
