Timothy Gillispie, a beloved member of the Marion community, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 24th, 2025, at the age of 61. Born in the quaint town of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, on July 7th, 1964, Tim was known for his unwavering kindness, infectious smile, and his dedication to helping others.
A lifelong laborer, Timothy worked tirelessly, always ensuring that he poured his heart and soul into everything he did. Outside of work, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life—fishing, hunting, and landscaping. A true lover of animals, Tim had a unique way of connecting with all creatures great and small. His warmth and generosity extended into his community, where he was ever eager to lend a helping hand.
Timothy’s faith was a cornerstone of his life. He was deeply appreciative of his church family at Genesis for their support and fellowship—a gratitude he often expressed with sincerity and love. He cherished the special friendships he shared with Tim and Bobbie Barber, Pete Martain, Joe Brewer, and Keith Thrush, companions whose camaraderie brought him immense joy.
He is survived by his caring sisters: Betty (Pat) Callahan, Diana Howard, Cindy (Jess) Wilson, Barbara Murrel and Joyce Davis, whose love and laughter he treasured dearly. Timothy was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Mildred Gillispie, as well as his brother, Steven Gillispie, whom he missed profoundly.
Tim’s family extends their heartfelt thanks to everyone who touched his life with kindness and warmth. In lieu of flowers, they kindly ask for donations to be made to the American Cancer Society, hoping to support a cause that was dear to his heart.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Edwards Funeral Service Hughes-Allen Chapel. A service in his honor will be held at a later date, allowing family and friends to come together to celebrate his life and legacy.
Timothy will be remembered for his boundless generosity, compassionate spirit, and the love that he shared so freely with those who were privileged to know him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
