Sheena Rae Hurt

Sheena Rae Hurt, 38, of Marion, Ohio passed away peacefully on September 24, 2023.

She was born on February 23, 1985 to Raymond Hurt and Pamela Peddicord in Marion. She graduated from Pleasant High School in 2003. She was certified in CPR, First Aid, and Direct Service Providing.

She was engaged to Josh VanBuskirk and they enjoyed fishing together. Sheena was better at fishing than most men. She was very feisty and all of her friends called her “Spider Monkey” or “Family Dentist”; she was also known as Beena. Sheena was never intimidated and never backed down from anything. She was a powerful woman and a good role model for many women, having helped family and friends through all sorts of hardships. Sheena was a mother of two and her kids were everything to her. She was a very fierce mama bear. Her smile and laugh were contagious.

Sheena had finally found her passion in home health care, where she could help patients who will miss her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Broc Alan Hurt and cousin, Todd Thompson.

She is survived by her parents, Raymond (Julie) and Pamela (Todd), grandparents Marilyn and John, grandparents Verna and Gary, fiancé Josh, children Ayden Alan Shaw and Ayva Shaw, and she was looking forward to meeting her coming granddaughter, Faith Lynn Shaw. She will be missed by the VanBuskirks and many additional friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help with the future expenses of her children.
