Sandra Lee Coy

Sandra Lee (Wakely) Coy, 76, of Marion, Ohio, passed away on March 1, 2026. She was born on September 22, 1949, in Marion, Ohio, to the late Kenneth R. Wakely Sr. and Emma M. (Stephey)  Wakely. 

Sandra was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Steven Coy, whom she married on July 6, 2000. Steven passed away on May 17, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Kevin Wakely and Mike Wakely, and her dear friend Richard Roseberry.

She is survived by her children, James Coleman (Angel Coleman), Tracie Coleman, and Tammie Malone; her grandchildren, Jessica Malone, Jamie Escobar, Deion Roy, Brandi Kirk, Erin Malone, Sierra Malone, and Amber Roy; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Kailynn McKee, David Imbody III, Kamryn McKee, Jackie Escobar, Xander Campton, Caius Northrop, Mylee Mullins, Jasiah Northrop, Kolt Easterday, Blakelynn Kirk and Zaylin Roy.

She is also survived by her siblings, Patty (Butch) Richie, Sharon (Wakely) Shuster, Kenneth (Barbara) Wakely, Rick (Vickie) Wakely, Rob (Sherry) Wakely, and Penny (Duran) Ball.

Sandra worked as a teacher at South Shaver Baptist School in Houston, Texas, where she poured into the lives of her students with patience and care. After returning to Marion, she worked as an operator at Colonial Coin Laundry Mat. Above all, she was a devoted caretaker to her husband, Steven, faithfully caring for him during his battle with dementia.

Sandra had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed walking and exercising. She found joy in supporting her loved ones and spending quality time with family. Known for her softness, kindness, and gentle spirit, she was a friend to all. She was a dedicated woman of faith and a true family woman whose love and presence will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held with details shared closer to time.
