Sandra Chilson, a beloved resident of Marion, Ohio, spent most of her life in Shelby, Ohio, passed away peacefully on her birthday, October 7, 2025, at the age of 54. Sandra was born in Shelby, Ohio, on a crisp autumn morning in 1971, filling the world with her warmth and vibrant spirit.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Sandra leaves behind an enduring legacy in her cherished daughter, Marcelina Chilson, her son, Luke Chilson, and her precious granddaughter, Cataleya Christianson. Her love and dedication to her family will forever remain in their hearts.
Sandra is also survived by her loving sisters Cindy Lawrence and Rose (Greg) Lopez-Ogborn. Though her family mourns her passing, they find comfort in knowing she has joined her parents, Salvador and Mary Lopez, in eternal peace. Preceding her in death are her siblings, Joe Lopez, Salvador Lopez Jr., Anthony Lopez, and Linda Lopez, as well as her devoted husband, Scott Chilson, and nephews, David Hammond and Markus Lawrence. They are surely rejoicing in her arrival.
Sandra dedicated her professional life to caring for others as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA). Her compassion and commitment to serving the elderly left a profound impact on the lives of those she cared for, embodying a true caregiver’s heart.
Outside of her professional life, Sandra found joy and serenity in the great outdoors. She loved camping and exploring the beauty of nature, and her adventurous spirit thrived at concerts. An avid reader, Sandra’s passion for books was limitless – she was known to read a book a day, and her collection was extensive enough to build a fort.
She enriched the lives of those around her not only with her generosity and warmth but also with her zest for life and knowledge. Her memory will be cherished in the smiles and laughter shared among her family and friends.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Edwards Funeral Service Hughes-Allen Chapel, where Sandra's family will welcome friends and loved ones to celebrate her remarkable life.
In remembering Sandra, we are reminded of the beauty of a life filled with love, devotion, and adventure. Her legacy will continue in the stories we share and the love that binds us.
