Sandra Lee Akers

Sandra Lee Akers, age 84, passed away on May 03, 2023, in Marion, Ohio. She was born January 31, 1939, to the late Walt and Lorene Phelps.

Sandra was an active member of the New City Fellowship. She loved the Lord dearly; she loved spreading the gospel because He was her best friend.

She spent many years as a full-time caregiver. She enjoyed mentoring children. She was also an avid reader, animal lover, and an amazing cook. She will be remembered for her knowledge, her spirit, and her kindness that has touched so many.

She is preceded in death by her husband Charles Akers, her mother Lorene, who passed away when Sandra was 10 days old, her father Walt, her sons Bill Akers and unborn baby boy, her sisters Miriam and Betty-Lou, her brother Larry, and grandson Paul Gore.

She is survived by her children; Deeanna Akers, Tracey Layne, Beth (Greg) Field, Marc (Susan) Zimmerman, and John (Riena) Akers. Her sisters Margaret (Bob), Carolyn (Rick), and Jeanie. Her grandchildren Charles, Sarah, Samuel, Seth, Ava, Hayden, Crystal, Amber, Latisha, Craig, Jr., Amber, Ashley, Jason, Michelle, and Charles. 12 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and several cousins.
