Ronald E. Dixon, age 76, of Bucyrus, Ohio passed away on June 2, 2024, after a lengthy illness. Ron was born July 10, 1947, in Bucyrus, Ohio. He was the son of Walter Dixon and Helen (Clinard) and stepfather Bill Walters, all who proceed him in death. Special mention of Lowell and Burnett Walterhouse. Ron was married to Debra (Sharrock) Dixon, who survives.

He is survived by three children, Amy (John) Neubacher, Heather Slayton and boyfriend Jeff Baldwin, Sr., and Aaron Dixon and girlfriend Brittany Hall. Seven grandchildren: C.J. Neubacher, Hunter and Hayden Slayton, Kori, Kelsey, Bailey, and Brynn Dixon, and seven great grandchildren. Ron is also survived by four siblings: Hobert (Donita) Dixon, Mike and Steve Dixon, and Susan (Chris) Riefe, stepmother Charlotte Dixon, and many special cousins, nieces, and nephews that he thought highly of.

Ron was a lifelong resident of Bucyrus, Ohio. He served in the United States Navy. In the early years, he worked for Byrd Ambulance of Bucyrus, was a probation officer in Mansfield, and was a guard at the Marion Correctional Institute. Ron then moved on to work at B.F. Goodrich for 10 years, and then retired from Dayco Swan after 25 years. He was an avid lover of all music dating back to the 50’s along with his love of karaoke, a little league baseball coach to many, and he was an assistant Bucyrus high School football coach. He was man of many hobbies: riding four wheelers, fishing, coin collecting, golf ball hunting, arrowhead hunting, restoring antiques and vehicles, and always looking for “Good Deals!” His favorite hobby, however, was watching his Ohio State Buckeyes. Before Ron’s illness, he enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter Brynn, whom he helped take care of.

At Ron’s request, there will be no formal services. Private family services will be at a later date. Edwards Funeral Service in Marion, Ohio is honored to serve the family with the cremation. Cards and condolences may be sent to the family.
