Roger Lee Mathis, age 80, of Marion, passed away on August 11, 2026. Born to the late James Luther and Maude Justice Mathis on August 3, 1946 in New Boston, Ohio. 

Roger was a graduate of New Boston Glenwood HS and worked as a machinist for Marion Power Shovel. 

He was married to Lacy Mathis who preceded him death in 2022.

He is survived by a daughter, Rhonda (AL) Vaught of Portsmouth and a son Robert (Kisten) Mathis of Marion, Five Grandchildren, Fourteen great grandchildren and siblings Elbie Mathis, Loretta King and Tom Mathis. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Bernice Ellis, Norma Snyder, Paul Raymond, James Ed, Lonnie, Michael Dean, Leeta Stapleton, Mary Alice Sanford, Patricia Rowe, Bonnie Tyler, Nora Justice,Caroyln Pelphrey and Lana Carr.

Private services will be held at later date.
