Penny Hall-King

enny Hall King, age 78, of Marion, passed away on February 12, 2026 at 12:42am at home, surrounded by family.

She was born in Pikeville, KY November 9, 1947, the daughter of the late Hargus & Bertha (Donathan) Hall.  She attended Betsy Layne High School. Soon after she met and married the love of her life, the late Sky (Raymond) King on November 9th, 1964 in Clintwood, VA. She was given no middle name, but her father always lovingly referred to her as his Penny Winkle.

She was a lover of gardening and her flowers were always admired by all who visited and lived in the neighborhood. She would grow and share her vegetables she grew with her friends, family and neighbors. She loved and cherished her collections of angels and her mice figurines. She lovingly decorated her home with butterflies and photos of family in every room.

She worked over a decade for Things Remembered and enjoyed her job until she retired in the early 90's. She also volunteered at the local Palace Theater post retirement.

Penny is survived by her four brothers: Don (Ann) Hall, Terry (Pat) Hall, Kermit (Pat) Hall and Billy (Karen) Hall. Her two sons: Brian (Tina Albright) King  divorced, and Daren (Susan) King. Her two grandchildren: Shandi (Lucas) King-Dickinson and Kegan (Madison) King. Also left behind to cherish her memory is her only great‐grandchild, Raven Dickinson and her beloved best friend, her dog Sugar. She will be missed by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Upon her request there will be no calling hours. Instead there will be a private service graveside at a later date.
