Pauleen Salisbury, 76, of Marion, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on April 14, 2026. She was born July 1, 1949, in Marion, Ohio, to Paul Monroe Darst and June Arlou (Bent) Darst.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Sharon (Darst) Jackson; her brother, Ronnie Darst; her daughter, Mary Beth (Salisbury) Nelson; and her son, Jonathan Allen Salisbury.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Guy G. Salisbury; her daughter, Tanya (Joe) Baughman; her grandchildren, Michael (Alyssa) Nelson and Alivia Nelson; and her great-grandson, Theodore Michael Nelson.
Pauleen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found her greatest joy in her family. She worked as a waitress at the Depot and as a Red Cab dispatcher, and proudly homeschooled her youngest daughter, fulfilling her dream of teaching.
A faithful member of Calvary Bible Baptist Church, she served in the bus ministry and led the “Juniors for Jesus” ministry. Her life was rooted in her faith and love for the Lord, reflected in her favorite verse, I Corinthians 13:2.
She enjoyed fishing, writing poems, camping, gospel sings, and watching the sunrise. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her strong faith, and her wonderful cooking. She also loved her religious t-shirts and hats, especially her well-known “F.B.I.” hat—standing for “Firm Believer In Jesus.”
Her legacy is one of love, faith, and devotion. She will be remembered for the warmth she brought to her family, her unwavering faith, and the joy she found in life’s simple blessings.
A celebration of life will be held at Calvary Bible Baptist Church, 1419 Linn Hipsher Rd, Marion, Ohio. Visitation will begin at 4:30 p.m., on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 with services at 5:00 p.m., followed by meal in the fellowship hall. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
