Nancy Jean Lane

Nancy Jean Lane, age 70, passed away on February 11, 2023, at ProMedica of Marion. She was born on October 1, 1952, to the late Harold Smith, Jr and Mattie Marie Large in Newark, Ohio.

She obtained her GED in the 1980’s. She worked at American Nursing Care as the head of their Human Resources.

She married Terry Lee Lane on April 20, 1976.

In Nancy’s free time you could find her looking for a good bargain at a yard sale or thrift shop. She also loved to go camping and do crafts. She, also, has a love of bingo and playing card. Her most favorite pastime of all, was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she adored most of all.

She attended White Oaks Road Freewill Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Mattie Marie Large and Harold Smith, Jr. Her sisters; Brenda Caprioni, Sharon Abrams, Sheila Utley, and Shirley Millhouse.

She is survived by her husband Terry, and her children Gary (Michelle) Johnson, Terry (Crystal) Johnson, Melissa (Kevin) McCoy, and Stephanie (Ronell) Brownridge. Her brother Steve (Vicky) Smith and her sister Tina (David) Lucas. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
