Mary Lou Green, a beloved member of the Marion, Ohio community, went to be her Lord on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the age of 92. Born in Marion, Ohio, on Tuesday, January 24, 1933, Mary Lou spent her life in the town she cherished, surrounded by family and friends.
Mary Lou was a devoted homemaker who dedicated her life to caring for her family and home. She was a loyal member of the Holiness Missionary and her faith was a guiding force throughout her life. An ardent lover of gospel music, Mary Lou shared her talent and passion by singing gospel tunes on the local radio station with her sister Marcella, bringing joy and comfort to her community.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Charles Augustus Milar and Opal Marie Milar, her cherished husband, James Leland Green, her beloved brother, Charles Milar, her best friend and sister Marcella Vance, and a special nephew, Stephen Vance. She leaves behind several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews, who remember her as a fun-loving and nurturing aunt, always generous with her time and attention.
Family and friends are invited to honor Mary Lou’s life at a family visitation on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, from 11 AM to 12 PM. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 PM at the Marion Cemetery, where Mary Lou will be laid to rest beside her beloved family members.
