Martha A
Clemons
Sep 30, 1947 — Jul 27, 2026
She was full of life, love, and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with her family and friends.
Martha Ann Clemons was born in Decatur, Georgia, on September 30, 1947, to the late Barbara McGee and Clinton Faggs, Sr. She was the second youngest of five siblings: Leon "Black" Johnson, Clinton L. "Jr." Faggs, Mary Louise Faggs, and Ulysses "Slick" Faggs, all of whom preceded her in death.
At the age of 13, Martha met the love of her life, Roscoe "Ricky" Clemons Jr. They were married on January 8, 1966, at the age of 18. That same year, Martha and Ricky welcomed their first daughter, Tatia Clemons, who preceded her parents in death in 1995. They later welcomed two more daughters, Bobbie and Katina Clemons.
Martha was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was full of life, love, and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, baking, traveling, listening to music, dancing, bowling, and playing bingo. Affectionately known as "Mott," Martha touched countless lives with her kindness, honesty, and unforgettable spirit. Martha worked at Walmart for 20 years and Wyandot Popcorn for 15 years, but caring for her girls was always her greatest pride and joy. You never had to wonder where you stood with Martha—she always spoke her mind with love and sincerity. To know her was truly to love her.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her two daughters, Bobbie Miller Clemons and Katina (Jerelle) Clemons-Ball; her granddaughters, Rashawnda (Jon) Clemons and Courteney (Chase) Clemons; her great-grandchildren, Jo-Shawn, Abrianna, Raylynn, Astrid, Ahrya, and Jerelle Jr.; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Alice Clemons; as well as countless nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Edwards Funeral Services, Hughes-Allen Chapel. The funeral service will immediately follow from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place afterward at Marion Cemetery, where Martha will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.
