Lorene Conley-Ratliff of Prospect, Ohio went home to be with her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on March 16, 2026 at 11:08 p.m. at the Sarah Moore Ohio Living nursing facility.
She was born on July 25, 1940 in Salyersville, Kentucky, to her late parents Sammie & Jessie (Williams) Borders. She was blessed with two loves in her lifetime. The first, Buford E. Conley she married 12/20/1956, preceded her in death 3/9/2002. She was then swept off her feet by a new love and Ronnie L. Ratliff made her his queen 1/3/2004.
Lorene was a woman who loved Jesus with all of her heart. She loved the fellowship of her church family as a member, deacon’s wife and youth group leader of the First Free Will Baptist Church, Marion, Ohio. She loved to sing and would do so often with her brother, and daughters. She would sing in the congregational singing as well with family and friends. Lorene would most want to be remembered for her faith in Jesus Christ and that she is now whole again in Heaven.
She loved her family. A devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandma and great grandma. Her grandchildren know that at grandma’s or “Ggma” as she was affectionately called, there was always, cold milk, Little Debbie snacks, midnight talks and her famous homemade pancakes and syrup for breakfast.
Lorene is preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Eugene, Cecil, Edwin “Eddie B”, and Coy Corbet Borders and sisters: Alene Hunley, Christine Conley, and Rhoda E. “Sis” Prater, Grandchild: Sydney M. Conley and Great grandchildren: Rebekah L. Feight and June T. Conley.
She leaves behind husband Ronnie, daughters, Debbie (Jim) DeSimone and Teresa Ratliff and sons, Bobby (Susie) Conley, and Brian (Amy) Conley, as well as 8 grandchildren: Kristin (Matt) Murray, Dustin Conley, Jakob (Shelby) Conley, Tony DeSimone, Allison (Justin) Feight, Levi Conley, Kody Baker and Colton Baker and 13 great grandchildren: Cassidy, Bella, Logan, Leighland, Anna, Charlotte, Emma, Peyton, Lincoln, Maverick, Abigail, Benjamin and Daniel.
The family would like to invite Lorene’s family, loved ones and friends for visitation on Monday, March 23, 2026 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, March 24, 2026 from Noon to 1 p.m. at the Marion 1st Free Will Baptist Church. There will be a funeral service on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 beginning at 1 p.m. at the church. Reverends Lowell Spencer and Justin Feight will be officiating Lorene’s homegoing service.
