Lewis Raymond Kramer Jr., age 69, of Marion, Ohio, passed away on July 11, 2026 at home surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer. Born to Lewis Kramer Sr. and Linda (Clem) Kramer, Lewis lived a life defined by service, dedication, and unwavering commitment to those he loved.
Lewis proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Army from 1974 to 1981, demonstrating leadership, discipline, and honor throughout his years of service. Following his military career, he devoted 40 years to Complete General Construction, where he was known for his reliability, craftsmanship, and strong work ethic. He retired in 2018.
In his younger years, Lewis loved hunting with his brother, Robert, creating memories that stayed with him throughout his life. He was well‑known at company picnics for his skill in the operator competitions, often winning by masterfully picking up an egg with a backhoe — a feat that became a favorite story among coworkers and friends.
Lewis and his wife, Dana, cherished their camping families at Riverbend and in Texas, where they found community, laughter, and lifelong friendships. He was deeply grateful for the companionship of Floyd and Vernie, and Wain and Paulette, whose friendship meant so much to him.
Lewis is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dana Kramer, and his children: Jennie (Mark) Moodespaugh, Katheryn (Rick) Adams, and Heather (George) Blair. He was a loving grandfather to Aaron and Andrew Newsome; Hager, Elinor, and Orsen Adams; Tylar (Phillip) Davis; Alex and Isabelle Blair, and a proud great‑grandfather to Riley Newsome and Liam Davis.
He is also survived by his siblings: Alice Renee (Keith) Hildreth of Caledonia; Belinda Carson of Shepherd, Texas; Susie Kramer-Smith of Marion; George Kramer; Rickey Kramer of Marion; Daniel (Nell) Kramer; Allen Kramer; Jimmy Kramer; and Michael (Michelle) Kramer, all of Doniphan, Missouri.
Lewis was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers: Robert Kramer, Randy Kramer, and Bradley Kramer.
He will be remembered for his lifelong dedication to his work, his service to his country, and the quiet strength he carried throughout his life. His legacy lives on in the family who loved him deeply.
