It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Leona Faye Knight, who departed this world surrounded by family on November 3, 2025, at the age of 63. Born on July 20, 1962, Leona lived her life with a fierce spirit that would resonate with all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Leona was known as an ornery spitfire, lighting up every room she entered with her vivacious personality. She lit up every room she entered with her huge personality and wasn’t afraid to say exactly what was on her mind. She had a unique love for sweets, often seen savoring a Coke or Pepsi, and her passion for dancing was infectious. Growing up in the country brought her immense joy, and she thrived in the company of her family, creating memories that will be cherished forever. Leona was a devoted fan of the Buckeyes and the Cowgirls (also known as the Cowboys), proudly supporting her teams with fervor and enthusiasm.
She leaves behind a loving family who will miss her dearly, including her daughter, Connie (Jason) West; her brothers, Samuel Lee Knight and Michael Allen Knight; and her bonus child, Tonya (Dallas) Carroll. As well as her life long special friend Becky Howard.
Leona found joy in her role as a grandmother to Amber (Garrett) Rovnak, Zach (Sharaden) Smith, and Dillon (Bella) West, and as a great-grandmother to Alaia Smith, Wyatt Smith, and Zavahia Smith. Her bonus grandchildren, Whitney (Del) Edler, Tamikka Carroll, and Destiny Robison, and her bonus great-grandchildren, Camden, Kay, Arya, Ace, Reagan, and Addy, were also a great source of pride and happiness for her.
Leona was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Thomas and Ramona Knight, her grandparents, Grandma & Grandpa Clark and Grandma & Grandpa Gregory, her bonus grandson, Marcus Knight, and her cherished baby sister, Poppy Sue. They welcomed her with open arms, and their love continues to inspire us all.
