Kathy Lynn Obenour-Large, a cherished resident of Marion, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026. Born on August 29, 1967, in Marion, she lived a life marked by heartfelt devotion to family, an adventurous spirit, and a deep love for the outdoors.
Kathy was a proud graduate of Pleasant High School, a foundation from which she built a life full of meaningful work and treasured experiences. She dedicated many years of her career to the Honda Factory and CYT Factory, where her commitment and work ethic were greatly valued. Her strong sense of determination and spirited nature were evident not only in her professional life but also in her personality—fiesty and stubborn at times, yet always embracing warmth and sweetness.
Her enthusiasm for the natural world was infectious. Kathy enjoyed countless hours hiking and fishing, activities that brought her immense joy and offered a connection to the serene beauty of the outdoors. She had an adventurous streak, highlighted by memorable moments parasailing with her husband, Donald Lee Large Sr., experiences that reflect her zest for life and willingness to embrace new challenges. Kathy was also passionate about collecting pink clothing and found pleasure in shopping online, always keeping a vibrant sense of style.
Family was the cornerstone of Kathy’s life. She is survived by her loving husband, Donald Lee Large Sr., and her children: son David Wayne Galbraith II, daughter Molly Anne Galbraith, and son Donald Lee Large Jr. She also leaves behind cherished grandchildren Riley Marie Stitt and Brycen Ian Galbraith, who carry forward her legacy of love and joy. Her nephews Eric Obenour, Aaron Obenour, and Brent Obenour. Kathy’s brother, Rex Obenour, and Philip Sloan also survive her, standing together to honor her memory and the lasting impact she had on all who knew her.
Kathy was preceded in death by her dear parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenny and Sharon Obenour, as well as her grandparents, Frederick Eugene Skatez and Margaret Dora Skatez. Her aunt Linda Skatez. Though they are no longer with us, their memories remain interwoven with Kathy’s life story and continue to inspire those bound by the family’s deep connections.
In remembering Kathy Lynn Obenour-Large, we celebrate a woman who embraced life’s adventures with courage and kindness, who found happiness in the simple beauty of nature, and who above all, cherished her family with unwavering devotion. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved her and in the stories shared among family and friends.
