Janet Jeanine Longsworth

Janet Jeanine Longsworth 83, of Marion Ohio passed away on February 15, 2024, at Presidential Post Acute surrounded by her family and friends.

She was born on September 16, 1940, to parents Normal and Hazel Salyer (Rigsby) in Paintsville, Kentucky. She graduated from Mechanicsburg High School in 1965.

She married Dale William Longsworth on July 20, 1968, and they were married 49 years before he passed away in December of 2017 along with their only child Deborah who passed away in August of 2017.

She worked as a nurse aide for many years at different hospitals and nursing homes in Springfield, Ohio. She also cleaned houses for many years. She mainly loved being at home with her family and going to church. She lived for Sundays and Wednesdays so she could go to church. She attended Marion Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church for the last few years.

She is preceded in death by her parents Normal and Hazel Salyer, several of her siblings James Salyer, Mary Douglas, Hazel Heath, Dorthy, Donald and Diane Salyer and others, also her husband Dale William Longsworth and daughter Deborah Jeanine Longsworth Cassidy.

She is survived by her grandchildren Caleb and Kaitlin Cassidy, her son in law Jerry Cassidy and her brother Roger (Naoma) Salyer of Urbana Ohio.

The funeral will be officiated by Reverend Steven Cassidy at the Marion Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church on Marion Williamsport Road on Friday February 23, 2024, at 12pm. The visitation will be from 10 AM-12 PM before the service and then a meal to follow.
