James Wilson Ferriman

James Wilson Ferriman, of 472 Jefferson Street, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 24, 2022, at Marion General Hospital.

James, (aka) Jim, was 90 years old. He was born in Marion, Ohio to the late Emmalene (Gay) and William Ferriman.

He never knew a stranger. Everywhere he went, he knew someone. He was always laughing and cutting up with people. He was a big fan of football. He loved watching The Ohio State and Cleveland Browns.

He was a hard worker and worked at Great Lakes Charcoal until they closed. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church. We would all like to salute him for serving in the Army. He served during the Korean war and was awarded and two Bronze Stars.

James married the love of his life, Ethel Alice (Shoffner) Ferriman and was united in matrimony August 22, 1959. His heart was broken when she went home to be with the Lord. He has now joined his departed loved one.

James was a family man and came from a very large family. He is survived by 4 sisters and 2 brothers and was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 4 brothers.

He will be dearly missed by his sons: Michael Ferriman of Green Camp, Scott (Ronda) Ferriman of Marion, Mark (Mary Lou) Ferriman of Marion, and his daughters: Mary (Timothy) Severence of Obetz, and Sherry (Robert) Mattix of Marion; 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 7 great great children.

Friends and family may call at the Edwards Funeral Service 318 Mt. Vernon Ave., Marion, OH 43302 on Friday January 28, 2022, from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM with services immediately following. Funeral services will be officiated by Pastor Nicholas Worden. James will be laid to rest at Marion Cemetery after the service with Military Honors.

Pallbearers will be Michael Ferriman Sr., Scott Ferriman, Mark Ferriman, Michael Ferriman Jr., Matthew Severence, Trysten Messer, Shon Ferriman and David Berry.

Memorial Contributions may be made in James name to Edwards Funeral Service to assist with expenses.
