Gloria Mae Combs

Gloria Mae (Brooks) Combs, age 54, of Marion, Ohio, passed away on July 23, 2025, after a long courageous fight with cancer. Gloria (Mae Mae, as she is affectionately known) was born on December 18, 1970, to her late father Joseph Brooks and mother Gloria Jean (Friley) Graham.

Gloria married Danny Combs on August 14, 2012. They loved to camp, fish, and enjoy time with all their family.

Mae Mae worked as a care giver in nursing homes before her back injuries. When she had to leave the workforce, she fostered many kids. Her daughters said they can’t remember a time when Mom didn’t have extra kids in their home. She loved caring for people. She played bingo as a hobby.

She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents Edna and Cecil Friley, her daughters Tina Louise and Krystal Kay, her sisters Patricia (Pat) Dye, Brenda Brooks, and Carlyn Grandlee, her brothers Larry and Garry Campbell, and her niece Jeana Wren.

Gloria is survived by her husband Danny Combs, her sister Delores (Robert), her daughters Heather (Kyle), Tiffany (Shawn), Samantha (Simon), and Lizzie, her sons Paul-Trey (her favorite kid, her baby LOL), Charles, Shane, and Danny (Dj) (Jennifer), and her grandchildren, she has a lot of them…Alexis, Cedrick, Jaydah, Khiyel, Kahlil, Skila (Calvin), Jordan, Makayla, Tahtyanna, Nashua, and great grandchildren Zaniyah and Kaliyah, and lots and lots of nieces and nephews.

Following the graveside service at Grand Prairie Cemetery, there will a lunch held at Marion Union Station Association, 532 West Center Street, Marion, Ohio 43302.
