George D. Howell Sr

George D. Howell Sr., age 77, of Marion passed away early on the morning of June 6, 2015 at his home. He was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on October 4, 1937 to Lester and Pearl (Turner) Howell. George was a journeyman painter and retired from G & G Homes after more than 25 years of service. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Ross and Charles Howell, 3 sisters; Alice, Helen and Edna Howell and a daughter; Vanessa Howell. Survivors include his wife; Karen (Denney) Howell and other members of his family; Edward Howell, George Howell Jr., Kenneth (Mae) Howell, Michael (Christine) Williams, Patricia (James) Carter, Carolyn Howell, Synthia Howell, James Howell, Rickey Howell, Derrick Howell, Terry (Pam) Howell, Michael Denney and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. In keeping with George's wishes, a graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at the Marion Cemetery with Elder Shawn Jackson officiating.
