Obituary

Gavyn Bailey Groll, 17, passed away unexpectedly on April 24, 2026, at his home in Waldo, OH. Gavyn was born on December 10, 2008, in Marion, OH. Gavyn was in his junior year of high school at Tri Rivers’ welding program. He was excited to start his apprenticeship and eventual career in welding. Gavyn was an avid guitarist and was completely self-taught. He loved to share songs he wrote with his parents. Gavyn also enjoyed playing video games with his brother Garrett, and with his friends and cousins. He was a member of the Waldo Winners 4-H club and showed sheep and ducks at the Marion Fair. Gavyn played the violin in the orchestra for many years at River Valley. Gavyn had a big heart and never liked to see people unhappy. His goofy, high-energy personality touched many people in ways he never knew. He deeply loved all his friends and family.

Gavyn is survived by his parents Eric and Amanda Groll; brother Garrett Groll; Grandparents: Donny Tackett and Sandy (Richie) Tackett, Roger Groll and Kathy (Cheetham) Groll, and Keith Puckett; Aunts and Uncles: Kristi (Groll) Pepper, James Davenport and Jessica (Puckett) Davenport, Ryan Staub and Abigail (Appleby) Staub, Tyler Adams and Victoria (Puckett) Adams, and Derek Puckett; Cousins: Claire, Alaina, and Leah Harraman; Madelyne Lieber and Abby Pepper, JD, Alexandria, and Lelande Davenport; Elizabeth and Nadalee Adams; Jackson, Madelyn and Charlie Puckett; and many more great Aunts and Uncles as well as second and third Cousins.
