Evalynn Gail Crowe, 79, went to be with Jesus on Januaey 24, 2026, at her son and daughter in law's house. She was born in Huntington, West Virginia, on September 2, 1946, to the late William Bert and Dorothy Mae (Bowman) Zirkle. She graduated from Huntington East High School in 1964 and married Lawrence Jackson Crowe on April 22, 1967, in Huntington. The only thing she loved more than her family was serving her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
She volunteered as a classroom mother at Fair Park Elementary school, and while attending Greenwood United Methodist Church, she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, Junior Church, volunteered for Vacation Bible School, was in charge of alcolytes, served as secretary for several committies and was a member of one of the women's circles.
She is survived by her husband, daughter Elizabeth Compston, son Brian (Jennifer) Crowe, brothers Bruce Zirkle (Sharron Collins), Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Randy Zirkle, Bardstown, Kentucky, sister Neva Zirkle, Lexington, Kentucky, best friend and sister in law Jill Nottinhgham Beaver, Barboursville, West Virginia, sister in law Lisa Zirkle, Lexington, Ky, bonus grandkids Pam, William, Coltin, Madalynn, bonus great grandson William, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great- great and great-great-great nieces and nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother William Bert Zirkle Jr, in laws George (Naoma Nicholas) Crowe, Bonus Mother in law Verta (Hatten) Crowe, brothers in law Ronald Nottinghan, Fred Beaver, sister in law Beth (Nye) Zirkle, son in law Robert Compston and former sister in law Margarette Diana (Cyr) Zirkle.
Funeral arrangements will be private.
The family would like to thank everyone who helped take care of her while with Ohio Health Hospice (Vicky, Dawn, Amira and Erika) as well as Edward's Funeral Home for their help during this difficult time.
