Donald E. Lane

DONALD E LANE, age 84, passed away at home on August 27, 2023.  He was born to the late Earl Lane and Edna Plotner on July 6, 1939. He married Connie Mitchell on July 1, 1960.

He served in the National Guard and worked for 28 years at Marion Power Shovel as an overhead crane operator until they closed. He then went to work for Bash Home Builders until he retired.

His pleasures in life were woodworking and being outdoors. He loved spending time boating and at their lake house at Indian Lake entertaining many friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Evelyn Holcomb, Pearl Crowe, Esther Clark, Nellie Columber, and Jean Gruver and brothers Earl Lane Jr., Robert Lane, and Gerald Lane.

He is survived by his wife Connie Mitchell Lane, sons Joseph E Lane (Rhonda), Richard Thomas Lane, and daughter Lisa R Steele (Randy), as well as 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He is also survived by sister and brother Iona (Onie) Jessie and Floyd (Butch) Lane.
