Donald Eugene Coykendall Sr.

Donald E. Coykendall Sr., age 27, of Marion passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 4, 2016 at his home. He was born in Marion on December 7, 1988 to Alva M. Coykendall Sr. and Gail L. Hart. Donald attended Marion Harding High School before becoming self-employed as a construction contractor. In his spare time Donald enjoyed working on cars and trucks. He had his dad’s Matchbox car collection proudly displayed in his mother’s home. When he didn’t have a wrench in his hand you could sometime see him using a pencil demonstrating his artistic talent. He absolutely loved to draw. Donald was an amazing son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew and cousin. He loved his family and wouldn’t turn down an opportunity to spend time with them. The proudest moment of his life was the birth of his son; Donald E. Coykendall Jr. On this day, he began his journey as a father. Although he was only able to spend three short years with his son, he was an amazing father and enjoyed the memories that were made. Donald will be dearly missed by his son, his mother, his three brothers; Alva Coykendall Jr., Jason Coykendall and Robert Coykendall, his two sisters; Jessica Coykendall and Mary (John) Fox and his grandmother; Sharon Hart. He was greeted at Heaven’s gate by his father, his grandfathers; Paul Hart Sr. and Wesley Coykendall, his grandmother; Phyllis Walker and his brother; Ellery Coykendall.
