With profound sorrow and deep respect, we commemorate the life of David Wingate, Jr., whose journey among us came to a close on July 22, 2026, in Lima, Ohio. Born on October 24, 1975, David’s fifty years were marked by heartfelt connections and an enduring legacy that echoes through the lives of his family and friends.

David is remembered most dearly by those closest to him—the pillars of love and kinship that formed the tapestry of his days. He leaves behind his sisters, Tammy Ingersoll and Samantha Lawrence; his brothers, Timothy Wingate and Thomas Wingate; his cousin, Shawn Wingate; as well as his nieces and nephews, Aailaih Adkins, Dillinger Adkins, and Katlin Swartz. Among his most treasured survivors is his beloved daughter, Jenny Edgiton, who continues to honor her father’s memory in every endeavor and milestone of her own life.

David’s story is beautifully interwoven with the spirits of those who have gone before him. He was preceded in death by his brother, Christopher Wingate, as well as his father, David Wingate, Jr., and his mother, Cindy Wingate. The familial roots that guided him began with his grandparents, Otis and Mary Wingate, whose influence shaped the foundation upon which David built his own character and compassion.

To remember David is to recall moments of laughter, the bonds of brotherhood and friendship, and the devotion with which he cared for both family and friends. His presence—compassionate and unwavering—became a touchstone for those he loved, and his generosity of spirit remains a shining light to all who encountered him.

The void left by his absence is matched only by the warmth of his memory, alive in the recollections and affections of those who survive him.
