Cecil Raymond Holt

Cecil Raymond Holt, age 73, passed away December 19, 2022, at Marion General Hospital. He was born June 27, 1949, to the late Fred and Betty (Miller) Holt in Marion, Ohio

For 50 years, he was married to the love of his life Ogaline (Steffey) Holt. Though they separated, they remained good friends. Ogaline helped take care of him as a caretaker.

He worked for Ohio Heartland Community Action Center as their insulation, weatherization installer for many years before his retirement.

He didn’t know a stranger; he would talk to anyone. As his daughter says, he was a funny guy and  all-around nice guy. More than anything, he loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Each one of them were the apple of his eye.

He is survived by his ex-wife Ogaline Holt, four daughters: Joyce Newell, Valerie Holt, Kerry Groteler, and Michelle Kyser, three sons: George Holt, Chad Holt, and Tyler Holt, 12 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters: Kathy Caskey, Ruthy Kompkoff, and Pat Holt and two brothers: Ernie Holt and Gaylord Holt.

He is preceded by his parents Fred and Betty Holt, two sisters: Louise and Neddie, and two brothers: Douglas Holt and LeRoy Mason.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 12:00 PM at the Geran Thomas VFW Post 3313, located at 961 N. Main Street Marion, OH 43302
