Carolyn Lynn Marshall, 69, of Bucyrus, passed away on August 8, 2023, at her home surrounded by family and friends.
She was born July 8, 1954, to Harry and Lorraine (Castle) Cantrell in Marion, Ohio.
She married the love of her life, Johnie (Mike) Marshall on December 25, 1983. Mike and Carol spent a total of 49 loving years together. She would tell you it took her 10 years to get him straightened out enough to marry. The love they shared was one most did not understand, but those closest to them knew the unconditional love they shared.
Carolyn spent all her life catering to others; both in her profession as a cook and at home. She spent many years as a cook at the Bucyrus Community Hospital. After retirement she spent her days playing with and caring for her grandchildren. Carol’s faith in our LORD Jesus Christ is what most people will remember of her. Since the age of 17, she dedicated her life to Jesus. Carol was a true testimony of the mercy, grace, forgiveness, and love of Jesus Christ. She didn’t have to verbalize her faith; it was present in her daily actions.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Lorraine Cantrell: two brothers, Doug and Phillip Cantrell and one niece whom she loved as her very own, Lindsay Cantrell. She is survived by her spiritual parents, Jack and Ruth Hager of Bucyrus: husband, Mike Marshall: two brothers, Dean and Herbert Cantrell, both of Marion: two life-long “sister friends”, Pam (Doug) Moore, of Marion and Cindy Harper of Bucyrus: Two daughters, Courtney (Paul) Herr of Bucyrus and Deetra Marshall (Mic Hall) of Centerburg, Ohio: one “handpicked son”, Jairo Delosantos of Virginia: and nine grandchildren, Camille Brent, Isabella Eldridge, Grayson Eldridge, Meelah Marshall, Chance Eldridge, Paul Herr Jr., Mackenzie Eldridge, Julia Herr and Gideon Herr.
