It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Albert Slone on March 26, 2026, in La Rue, Ohio. Albert was born on May 17, 1935, in Garner, Kentucky, to the late Judge and Lucy Marie Mosley Slone. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and was the last surviving of 13 children.
Albert married Louann Timmons on May 28, 1955, and they shared over 70 years of marriage together. They built a strong and loving family that included their three children: son, Rickey Slone and his wife, Julia; daughter, Sandra Bentley and her husband, James; and son, William (Bill) Slone and his wife, Barbara.
He was a proud grandfather to Matthew Slone, Mark Slone, Travis (Summer) Slone, Trevor Slone, Trenton (Jessica) Slone, and Brittney (Chester) Pinnick, and a loving great-grandfather to Marissa, Oliver, Brianna, Zoe, Chandler, William, Jotham, and Gwendolyn.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and found great joy in gardening. He especially loved riding his zero-turn mower and taking care of his yard. He was also a big sports fan, cheering for Ohio State and the Cincinnati Reds. Albert was a man of faith and attended Good Faith Baptist Church in Marion, Ohio, where he valued the friendships and fellowship he found there.
The family will receive friends on April 1, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at Good Faith Baptist Church, 706 East Mark Street, Marion. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m., with Reverend Barkley Slone officiating. A burial will conclude in the Marion Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Albert’s honor to Good Faith Baptist Church.
